Unused Tickets
If you have booked a flight that you are unable to make, you need to cancel your ticket through Concur or by calling Anthony Travel (631-7080). By doing so, a credit may be available that can be applied on the same airline for the traveler to use at a later date. All airlines have their own rules but in most cases, a credit must be within one year from original travel date. Almost all airlines also charge a change fee for an unused domestic ticket and higher change fees for international ticket.
If you have canceled a flight that was booked in Concur or directly with Anthony Travel, you may see an informational alert in Concur reminding you that you have a credit to use on future travel.
Not all unused tickets will show as an alert. Tickets that were cancelled but were booked with a third party or directly with the airline (not in Concur or not through Anthony Travel) will not show as an alert. Also, if you have a ticket that was booked as part of group travel and was cancelled, it will not show in your profile, instead, the travel arranger is notified of those unused tickets.
If you know you have an unused ticket credit that you are not going to use, it might be transferable to someone in your department or someone else in at the University. For example, someones unused credit was used to help a parent that could not afford a ticket to see their child (ND Student) that was sick in the hospital. Please call the Travel Program Manager or Anthony travel to get option available for your unused ticket.
