If you’ve ever wanted to bypass the long lines at customs and border control, here’s your chance.

On September 23^rd and 24^th, travelND, program managed by Procurement Services, and Anthony Travel will be hosting the Department of Homeland Security to hold interviews for a minimum of 100 pre-approved Global Entry applicants.

Global Entry is a program developed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to expedite entry into the U.S. for low-risk, pre-screened international travelers at 40 major U.S. airports. Upon arriving in the U.S., members proceed directly to the automated Global Entry kiosk — bypassing passport control lines and paper customs declarations.

One of the key benefits of getting Global Entry is that you are eligible to participate in TSA PreCheck.

Global Entry is open to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, citizens of Germany, the Netherlands, Panama, and South Korea, and Mexican nationals. Canadian citizens and residents may enjoy Global Entry benefits through membership in the NEXUS program. For further details, visit Eligibility.

Application & Approval Process:

• Complete an application online and pay the non-refundable, non-reimbursable application fee of $100 per applicant. If approved, membership is valid for five years. The application process takes about 10 minutes and you get an email confirmation. Then within about a week to 10 days, you get an email that lets you know that you are conditionally approved. Please note, the deadline for completing the application process is September 1, 2015.

• Participate in the in-person interview that determines your eligibility: A U.S. Customs Border Protection officer will ask you questions, take your photo, and collect biometric information, e.g., scan your fingerprints. Interviews will be held on-campus on September 23^rd and 24^th (room location will be communicated to the interviewees):
  • Please remember to bring the following documents: Approval letter, valid passport(s) and one other form of identification, such as a driver's license or ID card to the interview. If you are a lawful permanent resident, you must present your permanent resident card. Additionally, if your driver’s license has the incorrect address, you will need to bring a current utility bill with correct address.
• Once you get your card, you will find your Trusted Traveler (Known Traveler Number) on it.  This number needs to be updated in your travelND profile and each of your frequent flyer accounts. In travelND, the Known Traveler is under the Travel Preferences section of your profile.  Then, you can log into your frequent flyer accounts and enter that information into your profile under “Known Traveler ID.” This will automatically register you for TSA PreCheck on reservations you make on each airline that participates when you fly through airports that have TSA PreCheck.
